Axel began his musical interests at an early age of 6 by taking drum lessons from Buddy Rogers. Later at the age of 10, he was a drummer in a three piece band called the "Shades of Blue" which played songs by Cream like Sunshine of Your Love .

While a student in NorKam Secondary School, he played percussion in the high school jazz band, and the high school band. Outside of school he played in various other rock groups playing music from artists like Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and Joni Mitchell. Also, during this time, he played percussion in the Kamloops Youth Orchestra. Drums was not enough to keep him happy; so, classical guitar became another passion which he studied at Kamloops Academy of Music.Check out his web site at acoustic guitar sounds

After high school, he played in many musical bands with different influences from secular to gospel. While in university studying computer science, he decided to keep a low profile and focus on his studies.

Finishing university, Axel taught guitar and drums privately and for various schools. In addition to teaching music, Axel played drums for various musicals. Theater is a great experience.

Managing a business is very time consuming and leaves little for music, but Axel managed to get into a country western band "Headin West" and continue his interest as lead guitarist.

Deciding to work abroad by teaching English in Asia, Axel has continued his interest in music and hence became part of a great group playing music. ad hoc
